My mom once told me the apocalypse would come after a major world figure died. This came from a time when she heard a friend's story about her visit to a fortune teller. When the Pope died, my mom was convinced we were all doomed. And now, today, a new Pope has been elected. Maybe this seems a small, insignificant matter to my life. But, there is something puzzling and frightening about the new Pope. He is from Germany. Does anyone else feel this is a mistake? I mean, think about the major figure Germany churned out in the 20th Century. I'm talking Hitler, people. Now, there i s nothing wrong with Germans - that is not the point. I am part German. But I do believe I am scared to have a German in a position of power, again. In other news, classes officially end one week from today. School is officially over two weeks from today. I leave for South America three weeks from yesterday. Tennis update: Going ok. Re-match against USD yesterday. We lost 1-8, but I played a superb singles match... almost going into a third set. My final score was 6-2, 7-6 (7-2). Coach was impressed with my match, and he awarded me the game ball (significant of the best match of the meet). This weekend is going to suck something aweful. We have 2 meets Saturday in Omaha... and 2 more meets on Sunday in Seward. We are staying the night in Omaha - but I'm staying at home. Things to do before I finish this damn year: 1- Video project 2- Thesis paper 3- Read novel and do a project about it 4- US education system project 5- Test (today, actually) 6- and a few things here and there. ALL IN ONE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! S-T-R-E-S-S-F-U-L-L!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
